Already have the Classic 150 and just ordered the Classic 200.
I want to see data on the local APP for both controllers.
What do I need to do? Is is just a Cat 5 cable run from one controller to the other?
Thanks.
Chris
Simple answer is:
Connect both classics and the computer to a network (ethernet) fire up the app on the computer on that network. It should find both Classics and you can switch between them on the display on the App. Or there is a condensed view of both on the main app screen.
Hmmm. I am running a Wi Fi extender on the Classic 150 and another Wi Fi extender for the Mate 3 (Outback Power). Are you saying I need to hub to be able to see both Classic's on the local APP? I thought you could run a ethernet cable from one Classic to the other and have one spit out data to the local APP via Wi Fi extender to a laptop. Thanks.
Chris
No like most Ethernet enabled devices each one needs its own connection to the network. A switch to all of the gear and one wifi range extender is probably the way to go
Any recommendations on a switch? Thanks.
Not personally. I usually grab the cheap 4 port switches at Walmart or staples
I use the tp-link 5 ports for this. They have quite agressive power management, and can be run off a 9v dc converter well enough. Shouldnt cost you more than 15 bucks.
Thanks. So. This is what I want to do:
1. Plug the Classic 150, Classic 200, and Outback Power Mate 3 into the switch.
2. Plug the Wi Fi extender into the switch
3. Broadcast, and be able to pull up the Midnite Solar Local APP (when needed) or Outback Power RE APP (when needed).
Sound okay?

That should work treat.

Thanks all...appreciate it. Will throw some pics/video link when done. My Kid is hitting "Overload" with the 1.2KW Renogy panels and I want to expand that array anyways. So, the Classic 200 will allow me to expand. Will use the Kid for another small project.
The Classic 150 has 1.3KW of Sunpower e20 panels connected...works well. Very efficient panels/excellent in low light.
