Title: Lite 150 won't registrer on local status app

Hmm gentlemen, I'm back with an issue.

Classic lite 150 connected directly to a Win7 laptop via cross over cable.
Firmware updated to latest version available.... Check
Factory reset done .... check
All first 4 dip switches on S1 are turned on.... check
IP addresses matches on laptop Ipv4 and lite, according to S2 dip section...and yes last number section is not identical.
laptop is set for 192.168.1.12 and Lite dip switches in S2 are set as off (static) off, off, on which should be 192.168.1.223
change computer .... check
Try another lite from my stash ..... check
Try normal cat5 Cable and another cross over cable (that worked on another installation of a 250V Classic last week).... check

I'm no Lite expert so my only suggestion/question is are you Configuring the LA for the static address of 192.168.1.223 and port 502

Network issue are difficult to troubleshoot and based on you trying different cable, computers, and lites. I could only guess there is something in the set up. Have you tried watching Ryan's video on Networking it may help just to review.

so the issue is probably the order you are doing it. try Not putting the switches in custom and making sure the IP on the Classic and Computer are on the subnet. Once connected then you can go to custom on the switches

Yes to the first query. port is 502 and the IP is set for 192.169.1.223 I've tried all IP addresses available on the S2 section of the LITE.

??? wait with the dip switches until both units (lite & laptop is up and running with the cross over cable connected? Will give it a try right now but the manual clearly states that first 4 switches in section 1 has to be ON in order to access the LITE via external controllers, be it the display from a normal classic or the local status app. Should I do a power down.

You're probably right though. Something is afoot with my programming. As a note I would say that the Laptop has been capable of communicating with various Classics via the Local status app.

Just another  note.

I tried the power up, checking the TCP-IPv4 preference is set to 192.168.1.220 (LITE is set for 192.168.1.223) subnet on laptop is 255.255.255) After this I moved the S1 dip switches to ON in sequence 1 to 4.  No result. I am able to access my own Classic via the Wi fi. I will now try to move the LITE near my router and connect with a normal CAT5.

EUREKA!
Hole through via wifi. Direct connection via cross over cable is now functioning.  I reckon you are right in the connection then dip switch sequence. Will try another LITE now.

Yeah I will look at the manual. But yes the Dips need to be set to NOT custom first. Glad its working

There are two ways to commision a lite:
1. set the dipswitchs to your bank, and network, custom off. Boot it, confirm running. Power down, change to custom, restart. Use the local app to tweak settings and theyll stick.
2. set the dipswitchs to custom and use the default network settings (assuming you can work with those) to access the unit using the local app. Make your setting changes and reboot. This will only work if the unit is brand new, and unprogrammed. Just beware that until the battery voltage is set right, dont go trying to do anything else but set it right and reboot.

In general i recommend the first way.
