Title: Firmware update
Post by: dmclain on July 21, 2015, 09:39:21 AM
I installed three classic 150 and two needed a firmware upgrade.  I upgraded one with no problem.  I then started the upgrade of the MNGP on the second one and started working on a wind chart on one of the others.  When I returned to the computer the windows command box was still up but was blank.  I assumed the MNGP updated.  I powered down the classic and on power up it shows the firmware for the MNGP is 1923.  I then tried to update the classic several times and was unable to communicate.  I tried a hardware reset with J1 and J4 per manual and could not get the flashing leds after reinstalling the pins.  I then tried a software reset using the left and right arrow keys.  The quick start screen came up and I selected solar and the default setting for the other items.  The data transfer started and froze when it reached 4360, 53.  I have tried this a couple of times and it freezes at the same spot each time.  The firmware  on the classic is 1341.

Update, I was able to fix my problem. I removed the MNGP from the problem classic and installed the MNGP from the classic that had been update.  I was then able to update the firmware on the classic.  I then reinstalled the MNGP that I had removed earlier.  I then selected solar and all of the default setting and it was able to write all of the data this time.  I then reinstalled the firmware update for the MNGP and everything is now working.  I love computer.

Uhmmm, so are you going to put in the 18XX versions or the 19XX versions to really be up to date?  ::)

I believe it's 2050 version now.
Im having a hard time to find the windows program after viewing this video many times :

http://www.midnitesolar.com/firmware/firmWareVideo.html

Seems they updated the web page and dropped the word "Firmware"
I have 5+ to do at some time.
Let alone trying to find your posts or a post you were monitoring on this forum .
Also it would be NICE if that video was on You tube or download-able .. Since I find it ez to follow when I have instructions  right there now as well .

This Im assuming is the VMM (Vulcan mind melt ) Production for Windows Will need Factory Restore after install
