Title: Manual rewrite needed?
Post by: Westbranch on October 06, 2015, 08:29:28 PM
Ryan, I went looking for your comment about the Positive Buss Bar... and NOT to use it in the charging system...

Here is the wording

21=Battery Positive Bus Bar.  This is where we would wire the Battery positive side of the Classic as well as where we would wire up DC loads.

What they are trying to say I believe is the battery plus wire that goes to the Classis Bat +. Not the cable the goes directly to the Battery bank Positive.     ::)

That would have to handle the max amps from the Classic. But not the amps from the battery to run an Inverter at max loads.

It shows in the pictorial that the charging circuit from the breaker goes to that bus bar, then to the bottom terminal of the inverter breaker which goes to the battery .

Westbranch - is that how your epanel was wired that burned up the terminal ?

Exactement monsieur Crazy!   :o

But I will double check, after we arrive tomorrow PM, that I did not mix up the 2 Positives, to those 2 CB's # 16 & # 17... but I don't think it would work if I did... ???

I believe the diagram WB reference is correct. The only current on the buss bar in question is the current from the Classic.  The investor current is going through that breaker. The bottom terminal on the breaker is being used as a connection point. Now if something else is on that buss bar it would have to be evaluated as to how much current is that connection carrying.

There were /are currently, ONLY the 2 wires shown in that diagram.  Inverter breaker to buss and PV CB to buss.

I will rewire with another ringed lug ended 6 ga cable direct to the PV CC CB ( #17) and remove the one shown from the buss to the PV   CC CB ( #17) ....

ADD: struck out typing error, replaced with correct name.

I think you mean the Classic CB don't you? That is what the diagram shows. Just so the bolt on that invertor breaker can take another ring connector and still be able to tourque it correctly.
