Title: MidNite Lite 250 + local App + MidNite SMA Communication Adapter
Post by: Franky on November 02, 2015, 01:03:57 AM
Still scratching my head after watching all those youtube "how to" videos.
We installed 3 Lite 250 plus 1 Classic 250 and the SMA comms adapter to a SI cluster.
Then one of the Lites failed and now I have the replacement on the workbench but no MNGP to program.
So I installed the local app and set the dipswitch to custom and configured the IP address but it will not communicate directly with the notebook.
Entering the static IP into the Local App for a search does not help either. Do I need a special cross over cable or just a cat 5/6 patch cable?

Then I need to configure the Modbus between all Midnites and the Comms adapter and noticed that the wiring diagram for the comms adapter shows an open loop, which is different to the closed loop diagram shown in the regulator manual. Will it work this way or do I need an end of line resistor?

THanks in advance

Update:
A PC restart and ping test sorted out the Ethernet configuration and the local app is running now :-)
