hello all,
i temporarily connected my second mitnite classic 150 to an old 12v battery. however it will soon be connected to the 48v lifepo4 battery. as i understand it, i just disconnect the midnite from the 12v battery and reconnect to the 48v battery. i just want to make sure i do not create the magic smoke.
i have come across this question on this forum before. the search function is absolutely useless.
thanks in advance
urs
The best practice IMHO would be to do a "Factory Restore". To do this first turn the battery and solar power to the Classic off. Next, turn the battery power back on while holding the Left and Right arrows. Hold the arrows until the first screen pops up. Follow the on screen prompts and continue setup.
This will reset all settings to factory defaults. You will need to reset any custom settings such as Aux 1 and 2. You may want to write these settings down for reference prior to resetting the Classic.
thanks very much for your prompt response. yes i suppose reverting to factory default is a good idea just in case.
i really appreciate all the help you provide here. this is what makes midnite solar chargers such A1 products.
all the best and thanks again

If not already done, a FW upgrade would also be in order. Never know when the FW was installed and which version... ;D
i was thinking about updating the firmware, it has 1923/1839 . however it is such a convoluted procedure. i had to do it on the first midnite classic for the whizzbang jr to work. besides the laptops are windows 10 now, so i suspect it would not have worked anyway.
connected the midnite classic yesterday. and no problem accepted the change from 12 to 48 volts. and pressed the two side arrow buttons for factory settings.
thanks again for all your help and and advice.

sounds like W10 is real game changer>>> ;) :D
