Logged on to mymidnite today and couldn't quite figure out what was wrong. Power was one of the monitored parameters and there was only 3 little blips and the watts scale on the right only said 10w at the top. Then it hit me, it was serious, my max output blip was only 9W! That's with 3k+ watts of panels on that Classic.
When you see stuff like that you know the weather is pretty crappy. I wouldn't feel so bad but this stuff has been going on for months, but it is warm 49 degrees today in mid Jan in Alaska!
This place may drive me nuttier, and I'm not looking at mymidnite again until I actually see the sun.

Ha! :) Good Times! 49F? That is warmer than it is here at 8500FT in CO.
Cant you find some a use for snow? Does it have any uses? Here it rains (3m per yr), and i lie awake at night trying to think of ways to capitalise on it.
Hmm. Column of snow and a wheel....
Zoneblue,
3m of rain, are you sure, I looked it up and all I could find was pictures of a cool mountain with puffy clouds and lots of sunshine. Our tourist board takes the same pictures up here. :o
I watched "The monster of Mangatiti" a few weeks ago and have been addicted to Youtube motorcycle videos from down your way ever since. My Dr650, or any bike for that matter, would be a blast down your way.

Mt Taranaki, in common with other mountains on the west coast, protrudes into the roaring 40s air stream. Consequently such places are some of the wettest in the world. We are only a small way up the mountain (460m out of 2500m), if you go to the summit it gets 8m annually. Milford Sound, a popular tourist area gets 11m.
However the majority of NZ gets over 1.5m, and that explains why we measure annual rainfall in meters, not centimeters. And why its known for being clean and green. (actually dont know about the clean bit anymore), but it sure is green.
