I have a classic 200 installed, I'm going to upgrade panels, inverter and batteries. I was eyeballing the fx 2524 outback sealed off grid inverter charger. Evidently the outback mate is highly desireable, almost required for the auto gen start, and a few other features, not sure yet.
Question is, will the classic 200 integrate well with the outback fx inverter and mate. I know I should read the fine manuals and am slowly....but squirrely.

Hi pmosier,
The only OB equipment that I run here are the MX-60 Charge Controllers.
But, you might want to look on the OB Forum. Historically, there may have been a problem with Gen Start with some OB Inverters. It may have been resolved, and it might not been an issue on the Inverter that you are interested in, but you might want to check:

Others here are much more familiar with the OB products.

Yes the mate is very desirable with the inverter. Generally you should be able to use those items together just fine, they have fairly separate functions.
OutBack GenAlert is rock solid. AGS I haven't tried in a long time. It's probably fine for a hands-on user that can deal with an occasional error. Have they changed the sealed units to actually have a usable aux output? The aux function used to be used to run the Turbo, so with one inverter you had no aux function really.
I have to say the Classic aux function documentation is a little hard to understand. I realize there are updates happening there, but I feel it needs to be dumbed down for some of us. ;)
edit - thanks for the post on the Aux functions.

We are working on the Classics Aux menus. I prefer not to call it dumbed down but put in English. Stay tuned I will leek a little info on them as soon as I tidy up the definitions here in the next day or two.
