Title: New Midnite Solar Solar Power System at SPI 2016?
Post by: Jacotenente on September 20, 2016, 05:43:08 PM
Saw a video from SPI on this thing. Still scratching my head...is there any additional specs/info/data? Costs? Benefits?

The attached preliminary brochure is all that exists at the moment.

I don't expect the Midnite solar B17 inverter to be inexpensive, but compare the price to the other modular inverters on the market with hot-swappable modules. Oh wait, there isn't anything else like it on the market.

As with anything else, you will need to compare the cost of everything you need, including breakers, enclosures, wiring, monitoring, installation labor, inspections, etc. I expect that when you price out all of the pieces, the B17 will be competitive with other 6000 to 10000 watt inverters.
