Title: overide of bulk charge
Post by: ralph day on December 27, 2016, 09:16:21 AM
Hi all
What I need to do is over ride the Classic's reset for bulk charge.  I have a Classic 250 with a Bergey XL1 turbine.  If I have a fully charged battery situation and the Classic is in Float, I want to make sure it stays in Float until I'm ready for Bulk charging again.  I've been finding that I go to bed with the system in Float, but in the morning (after a windy night) the system is in Bulk or Absorb again, when it's not necessary.

I use the Tweaks menu to shuttle between Bulk and Float all the time, just need to know if I can invoke a Float command, and have it not restart to bulk when a "new day" occurs.  Would it be as simple as changing the time of day to 12 hours different (midnight comes at 12 noon?)

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Ralph

There is an option for "skip days", at least in newer versions of firmware that might be what you're looking for.  Not sure how recent, but it's been there for a while.  If your firmware is fairly up to date, it should be there, and is also settable in local app.

As I understand it, the controller will skip 'x' number of days of bulk/absorb cycle unless you get to whatever rebulk voltage you have set.  I use it while I'm not there to avoid doing bulk/absorb when mostly just floating is needed.  I think I have it set to skip 4 days.

After a few days of thought it bubbled up to the concious mind that you can skip, change the time of day, or adjust the re-bulk voltage.  I'm using a combination of the three.
