Title: 36 volt Array? -Classic 150
Post by: Tinman on October 23, 2011, 11:20:05 AM
Just ready to fire it up (Classic 150). This is a small/tiny system consisting of 3 100 watt panels (12 volt) mono crystalline. Battery bank is 12 volt 520 amp off grid (RV) While the Classic 150 is overkill, there is more to come so for me it makes sense not to buy another controller in the near future, just increase the total array size.

The question: I'm figuring the Classic can handle 3 12 volt panel in series and that it can't handle 12, 24, then 48 ...only.

Just triple checking before power on.

You are correct the Classic can handle anything from battery voltage up to its operating voltage.

Thanks so much. I went through the Demo and that gave me a bit more confidence. You know, before turning everything on. Checked wiring I don't know how many times then has a retired electrician who used to work on nuke power plants check it (they ran some solar systems too). Took enough pictures to write a book.

I do have to say that the support for this product sold me. To date, any and every question asked has been answered as if I was the only customer, simply great. When I've called Midnight, people actually answer the phone, know what they are talking about and always treat you super.
