Here are some new type lithium batteries on the market.
only 1/2 C for charge and 1C for discharge.

for the amount of cost for power from these batteries it makes little sense to venture in that direction. if you have that much $ to do it then just go ahead and pay the utility to send the power to you as that would prove to be cheaper in most cases.

Indeed, OUCH!
Nearly 4 grand for what is essentially tiny capacity (71 AH)? Their specs say 67 AH once you read deeper.
If my mental math is right you would need 20 grand to get into useful capacity range for off grid anyway.
Their WH rating (Model: PHI3.4-48V 3440 Wh 48V) is just smoke and mirrors. Seems if they outright said ~70 AH everyone would run away but 3,440 watt hours sounds impressive. Until you put it into commonly used AH units for battery capacity. >:(
It i
s nice to see the new technologies but the cost is pretty crazy IMHO
Anyway, just the facts as I see them. However, not everyone has my vision.

As far as I can tell their marketing is based on that they are safe , made in USA, and recyclable . But their specs are not very impressive in the amount of power they will deliver - only 1C and C/2 ( 1/2 of capacity ) charging rate. If you compare that to other LiFePO4 on the market for less money they really don't seem very good at all. For example Calb 100 AH cells will deliver 2C and you can charge at 1C

They made a video on their batteries and claim the lifetime cost is half of lead acid , but the chart they show does not seem to support that - in fact only shows lead acid a few cents less per lifetime cost.
