Title: RYAN, what have I done!
Post by: toothy on March 08, 2017, 03:13:20 PM
I bought 16 Aquion batteries 2 yrs ago they failed and were replaced 1 year ago and have been great since. Today I find out the declared chapter 11 yesterday! :o

Do you know if the problem is technology related or just poor management?

They surely did have some management issues but the replacement batteries seem pretty wonderful. They said the old set had a contaminant in the mix which caused the failure.

I know skating on the ragged edge is risky but I really disliked my FLA's. Should I be looking for an alternative or might these live a while, seem fine so far.

Thanks
Wade

Doesn't look good for others but if mine keep doing their thing I'm happy as a clam! Probably too much to wish for though.

Be happy you got your's replaced before they imploded!

I was going to go with their batteries but got diverted to grid tie by other factors and, in retrospect, I am glad we did.

I think the issue us cost vs sales, They have gone through several hundred million in VE / Grant money and are just flat broke is the way I see it. I suspect the outlook must have been bleak or they would have found a way to stay going. Will be interesting to see if anyone buys it as a package at the fire sale or if simply dies

I read a press release last week touting the big sales in Australia...
couldn't have been big enough  :(
Not too good in cold climates but should have been great in Australia or Africa...
