Many Systems I'm doing are PV Rich, since Lead Acid Battery kWh's are so expensive.
Nice having full charge even on cloudy days. Most days the SCC will spend most it's time in Absorb or Float. So there are
"unused" kWh's to divert 4 hot water heating (Aren't these PV Prices great).
I could divert over 50V to do this with the Aux relays but it would be a balancing act
to not consume any of the battery electrons. Best to do diversion on the High Voltage PV side.
Anyone have any cost effective ideas or experience. Will the Clipper do this for PV?
Bump - to fish for ideas mesself.
Yes the classic can do this for you. The mode you want is called "Waste Not Hi" and it does just exactly what you want. Any electron not needed for battery charging is used for diversion. So it basically PWM's a signal to say a water heater and it varies the PWM signal according to the available power. Do a search here for threads by Chris Olson he is what I would classify an Expert on diversion and has written a massive amount of great info here on the forum.
