Title: Adding Second MPPT Charge Reg.
Post by: phonetic on January 08, 2012, 09:00:08 PM
With PVs being so cheap at the moment, Im looking to upgrade my Installation, currently have 12 190w monos config as 3 in series 4 strings into a Classic 150, I plan to use my surplus Outback MX60..with extra 8 panels 190w monos as 2 in series 4 strings.
The question is would a second charge reg confuse the Classic 150, Im thinking to set the MX60 not to equalise charge,  set boost and float voltages as the Classic 150 ?
Regards
Frank

Naahhhh...   No more than if you had 2 MX60s  or 2 Classics.  You can always adjust the voltage readings a wee bit if the inaccuracy gets in the way in MPPT / Bulk charge mode, but usually a couple tenths of a volt won't even matter.  They may not go to float at the same time, but not usually a biggie.
