Title: Amazed with Midnite Tech Support
Post by: Danmc on February 22, 2019, 03:53:50 PM
This is my first post here, mostly because I have had a Midnite Classic running my off grid cottage in the woods of NH for several years with no issues.  However, today I arrived here, a sunny day with deep snow everywhere.  I was happy to see the panels looking like the snow had shed and were clear.  Then when I powered up the inverter to power the house I saw only 12.3 volts (12 volt system).  I checked the controller and it said “resting “.   But the panels had full sun and the controller reported 70 volts.  I figured my controller had died.  I looked up the Midnite website and found technical support.  I called the number and was shocked that within a few minutes I was on the phone with them.  Kyle walked me through running a diagnostic and found that it was reporting a dirty or partially obstructed panel. I cleared off the snow and it started charging.

So all this is to say thanks for an excellent product and a support group that actually answers the phone.  Very rare in today’s environment.  I was expecting to get somebody in the Philippines who would give me canned responses in broken English.  Hats off to Kyle at Midnite Tech Support!

Thank you Dan !

Yeah, that Kyle guy...  I think we'll keep him around a while longer !

Hopefully, you get service like this from any of our service folks.

We understand that these systems can be complicated and the need for the person on the phone to understand  how these systems work, or don't work.

We have seen most of these problems before so if we can understand what the issue is, (the question), then we can hopefully answer the question quickly.

Looks like that's what happened here !  Excellent !
