Title: Help, classic 150 is resting
Post by: Guda on January 12, 2020, 09:10:02 PM
Hi,

Setup for wind. Using the MWandS VRD (wish my guy had sold me a clipper)

So I followed MWS directions & nada. Just resting.

Anyone know why? The manual is super vague & I’ve tried every AUX setting

What voltages do you read at the input and outputs ?

can you spin the wind turbine with a motor to see what it produces ?

Try connecting a 100W 120V incandescent bulb to 1 turbine output

Hi,

Sorry for low info... My bad

Its a 12 DC WG (wind generator) from MW&S

I can see the voltage coming from the WG & battery

I think I saw 20 some V at one point coming from WG. Battery reads good

I reset the jumper pins after powering it up & doing the other settings, but it still was in resting.

In the manual it says low light or Aux2 is set wrong. There is nothing connected to Aux2. Aux1 I followed directions & checked to make sure it was correct.

Thank you

Maybe something with the settings being for a AC unit & I have a DC unit.

What voltage does a rectifier make?

You should call the guys you got it from - I looked on their site and they sell their products with Classics so I would think they should know.

This appears to be a common issue from my research into our call logs. I will reach out to Missouri W&S today and see if we can work on a solution as well as a quick start guide.

Can you tell me what specific turbine you have?

I called you guys & I got hooked up with a working curve! I forwarded that curve to MW&S.

I have a Pre-Wired VRD unit w/ a MidNite Classic 150 from MO W&S with a 3-phase 12v (AC Wild) 9-Blade 1600watt Freedom PMG wired in (through Rectifiers etc).
My wind average is 10mph. but we get some good Storms up here in Seattle.
It's on a 30ft Pole, and I'm in desperate need of a Wind-Curve Chart for my 12 volt Battery bank (x2 12v Battleborn LiFePo 100ah Batteries in Parallel for 200ah Total).
It's spinning out of control, and all they gave me was a 24 volt Curve, told me to double the amps, cut the volts in half, and GOOD LUCK!!
Ummm, ya, it's not that simple.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks!!
