Title: Well Pump Protection

Will the MNSPD mounted at the Well Casing protect the pump when the power is off?

Or do the units need power (LED ON) to clamp during a lightening strike.

I have a 240 volt Grundfos pump I run off the Magnum inverter and only turn it on from the house to fill a storage tank every few days.

Yes it will protect the circuit. The LED is a visual indicator only the Clamping circuit is independent and requires no electricity to function.
