Title: Auto EQ
Post by: plongson on May 14, 2012, 07:14:26 PM
I'm playing with Auto-EQ and had a question. When set, like at 21 days for 2 hours and 3 re-trys, does the Classic "count down" the number of days 'till the EQ? paging through the menu, I have not found a count down feature, but maybe I missed it...

THANKS! Paul

Hi Paul !

Hopefully I am understanding your question correctly...

In the CHARGE --->  EQ --->  AUTO EQ  menu is another Soft-Right menu key called VIEW.
If you press this, the next screen will show you the countdown number of days and
retry days left until it gives up.

If INTERVAL is set to 0 (zero) days, it says MANUAL which is just saying that Auto EQ is
disabled.  If it does say MANUAL, then the RE-TRY days will also be zero (0)

When I hit that soft key, it always says 21 days (duration between EQ's) , 2 hours (of EQ) and 3 retrys (which is where everything is set set). I never have seen it say like, 10 days, 9 days, or 5 days etc.

It's like it only reflects the Auto EQ setting...

I hope I'm making sense.

(I'm not saying this is a good or bad EQ setting, I'm just trying to make it work)

Ahhh..  I see now.  So it isn't counting down one interval number per day then I am hearing.

I will have to check out the latest software to see what happens.

What is your software date / version etc ??

boB

PS
OK, I assume that the Classic is waking up each day at least ?  It should not matter of course if
it wakes up or not.

There may have been older software that DID need to wake up once per day in order for
the Auto EQ days to decrement.

Anyway, Looking into this.  Would help to have that software date.

FYI, My classic here is decrementing the interval day.  For software or updates
after last summer, a new day starts at 23:30 hours (Midnite, basically)

It's the November release, not the last one.

EDIT: I see there is a new release, should I try that one?/

Just to clarify you are goint to the EQ menu and then pressing the right soft key 2 times, one for Auto EQ and one for View correct? I would say you may want to try the latest code although we have not seen this issue in house so maybe there is another trigger?

Ryan,
Yes, thats what I'm doing. When I get home I'll down load the latest software and give it a try.
Thanks!

We haven't done anything with the Auto EQ portion of the code lately.

That doesn't mean there isn't something wrong with your code though.

But, Is the Classic waking up each day  ? ? ?

Well, I'm going to say...yes, as I understand it because

1.) There are tabulated totals for daily output.
2.) The graphs essentially show a start and an end to the day.

Believe me, I'm a rookie with this device. If there is something I need to look at differently, let me know.

Hopefully there is just something being overlooked or needed to look at differently.

Sounds like it's waking up etc and should be decrementing the days in that view menu.

OK, let's try this...   Go to TWEAKS menu and press MORE twice.  Right-Arrow 2 times
to highlight A-EQ-R  and press the UP arrow to Auto-EQ-Reset those numbers.
Do that today if you can and then check the VIEW menu to note the numbers.

Tomorrow, check the VIEW numbers again and let's see if something different happens.

That Tweak is there in case something gets stuck or doesn't go back to zero (0)
days when you want it to.  Since your VIEW is showing your original 28 day
interval and 3 day re-tries, I'm not sure if this is going to help, but I have been
surprised before !

Thanks and let us know if anything different happens.  We will look here as well
just in case there is something that WE are missing.
