Title: Will This Panel Work with MN3024 DIY
Post by: Cabinfever on June 20, 2022, 08:58:09 AM
Hi folks, can anyone tell me if the panel (see pic ) I have is suitable for use with the MN3024DIY. Also if I have 2 of these panels will they still be suitable to use with this unit. If I decide to not go with the MN3024DIY then what size SCC would I need for 1 panel of this size and if I added another later I would just purchase a second SCC.

I don't know all the specs of the MN3024 DIY.
But what you could do is use the Classic sizing tool and enter in the specs for that panel and select two panels or more.
It will give you some results for voltage and VOC temp limits ,etc.
Then take those results to the specs of the MN3024 DIY and compare the minimum and maximum voltages , current , etc.
Not sure if midnite ever made a string calculator for their DIY line but try this

You can use 1 or 2 of that PV module in Parallel with the DIY3024 but NOT in series.  The DIY3024 has a MAX PV input voltage of 100 volts DC.  Not 101, not 105.  There is NO headroom.  The PV must be kept less than 100VDC or BOOM.
