Title: cant get Aux to come on
Post by: peterfey on July 07, 2022, 07:26:03 PM
Hello
we are running micro Hydro
We've got 24v lead acid batteries.
Diverting to element (air or hot water)
We had to shut down everything to rewire diversion to the hot water cylinder (mice had chewed the wire)
When booted it back up, it looked like the settings had disappeared.
it was many years ago it was set up and i'm having trouble with the parameters to set.
There is a signal from  the controller going to the external relay (little fan) but is not continuing on to the element.
Can any one confirm or tell me what settings i should have....
its set on Micro hydro
equalization = Absorb 28, equalize 28, Float 27
What should the Current Limits be ? "out amps" "in Amps"
Using Aux2 on Diversion High .... What should my settings be here ? is this the correct one to use?

Is there anyone who would like a holiday in Kaikoura and come and help me ?
thanks
peter

If the Aux is sending power to the relay but the diversion is not on it sounds like you either have a bad relay or diversion load etc. You will want to take a volt meter and chase from the battery, through the relay to the load and see where the voltage ceases to show up

Thank you

you are spot on, the Relay isn't working.... I've just ordered a new one.
I think i must have fried it or something when I was re-wiring.

ill let you know how it goes.

Cheers
Peter

I have heard that back emf spikes can take out relays - so you may want to get one with protection for that or add to the circuit.
