When trying to update from the Midnite Solar Satus panel, I get the message: An error occurred while trying to update. Please try again later.
It is on a public IP address and I have no problem getting into it remotely.
Midnite Classic 250 rev4
What am I doing wrong?
I am not 100% sure about this but, I believe the update button in the local app, is to check to see if the is an update for the local app itself. Not for checking for firmware updates for the classic. You may be on the most current version of the local app already so the error may be indicating that there is not a newer version.
Again, not certain about this, just educated guess work.
Hope it helps, and if I am wrong on this we should hear from some others as well.
BTW, can you check to see what version you are at. My local app is at 0.3.66
You should be able to check on the home screen/application/about.

Do you want to update just the app or to update the Classic firmware ?
Larry
I would like to update the Classic firmware.
To update the firmware is a different process.
Page 52 of the manual steps you through it.

yes you need to update the Classic firmware using usb .
If you don't have one of the usb cords - it is pretty common and around here the thrift stores or recycling bins are full of them.
One end is mini usb which was widely used on phones, gps, etc in the past. Or you can probably get a cable for couple bucks on ebay.
update firmware and instructions on link.
Make sure you update both Classic and MNGP ( two different steps )
