Short story....
uploaded the newest version of firmware for MNGP2—23.06.14
Everything went fine.
The MNGP2 flashed, LEDs flashed, got the home splash screen
And!!!
That was it.
No functions at all. Other than the flash screen, nothing works. Press a button and you get a beep.
Here's what I've done so far.
Power down the inverter.
Power up the inverter.
(did this a few times)
No joy!
Power down inverter once more, disconnect MNGP2 from its cat cable. Removed the memory battery. Wait...
reinstall memory battery and cat cable. Power up
Nothing..
Called tech support. New MNGP2 on it's way.
The last few upgrade to firmware have been without issue.
Rosie is still inverting, but I lost all interface with the old gal.
This is the screen that's on the MNGP2. Notice the batt voltage is way out of whack...
Anyone else beside me brick the MNGP2 with the new firmware?

Same thing happened to my MNGP2 doing that upgrade on Hawkes Bay.
If the updater would let it load a previous version of firmware maybe it would recover.
I contacted Ryan and let him know of this problem.

It appears the bluetooth is still active, as the uploader can find the MNGP2. However, the uploader won't let me reload the current software 'cause it says, newest software has been loaded...or words to that. Wish I had a way to see if I could upload the 'old' version, but I can't
There's no secret 'paperclip hole' to reset the thing either. That's something that should be seriously considered adding in the next version of the MNGP2.
I thought for sure, removing the memory battery would have reset the MNGP2. I was wrong!
So I guess I'll sit and wait for the new MNGP2. I asked service if they would load in the newest firmware, I don't want to go though this again.

Larry, what was the fix? A new MNGP2?

Ryan is having me try something - I will let you know if it works
Larry
Mike ,
Ryan had me reload file - he changed the file name a bit so it would load and it fixed mine.
I let Ryan know you had this same issue.

Was the renamed file the newest version or the older version?

Larry... we'll I'll be dip in sheep poop!
The beta updater saw the new file, looked like the same one to me, and whoa! Uploaded the firmware and the MNPG2 is back on line!
Now the question remains, what happened? Did a missing bit or byte get corrupted? A bug in the uploader? I'd sure like to know.

newest one - I think it just has .01 at the end number of file.
I reloaded it and then the MNGP was back to life and no problems
Give it a try.
Larry
Not sure why it didn't take the first time .
Easy fix though. They just need to redo the updater so it will let a person load the same file again if needed - like we just needed.

Technically, it's not the same file. Same stuff inside, but with a different name.
Personally I'd like to have the option to reload older firmware via the uploader.
Mike
I don't think that you can go backwards in firmware since the MNGP2 works on mulitple devices like the controllers and inverter . If a change is made in an address or something totally revamped with new features- going backwards in a firmware could break things , in other words some things may not work or communicate.
Larry
Was doing my firmware updates all went well according to iOS uploaded .
Except mngp2 froze.
Update guys , thanks to this forum when tech support is out
Did a revert to old firmware by unplugging mngp2 and holding back button for 15sec after reporting mngp2 as pointed out in another post.
Did the trick and reloaded firmware.
Wbjr doc seems to be stuck at 10% though . That's an improvement from a previous % percent😁
