As the title says I have the "Got Comm?" message. I was plugging in my ethernet cable and when I plugged the MNGP back in all I got was the "Got Comm?" Unit will not charge batteries. Doesn't display battery or solar voltage. I first attempted changing the "10" at the top, went through about 100 numbers before I gave up, 10 shows "Got Comm" all the others (going down from 10 to 175) show nothing. I have attempted the "power off, left/right arrow" no success, Attempted a factory reset gets hung at "sending data" never leaves that screen. I had to cancel the VMM after attempting it 5 times. I tried the "1-4-2 factory default settings" that did nothing. I am at a loss as to what happened.
I have attempted the hardware reset, the LED's never lit up (power off, remove pins, power on, immediately place pins on JP4 (boot) and JP1) No light show. Rebooted, still no comm. Took off panel to the MNGP, checked internal battery is at 1v (dead) will replace tomorrow. I also checked voltage at the Rs232 cable from left to right on the backside of the cable, (blue on left, white on right) 5v 10v -8v -7v 0v 5v I have no reference for the RX and TX voltages.
Firmware is 1933.
ethernet is not showing up on my router either. This also means no network connection.
GOT COMM is a sign the main processor is dead... Usually can be proven by listening for the POST (Power On Self Test) which spins up the FANS and blinks some LEDs inside behind the top vent when you turn on Battery Power.
Yeah... That Classic may need to come back for service.
You can call support or email support AT midnitesolar.com and they can either help you get it running again and/or start a ticket and RMA for it.
360-403-7207 Option #3 I think, IF nobody answers.

Oh nO! I contacted support, Unit is 8 years old so I DOUBT it will be in warranty, but at least you guys sell the parts so I don't have to buy a whole new one! Even though that is going to be putting my purchase of a new one a month back :*( Ah well, live and learn!
Thank you for the quick responses, boB and Wizbandit!
PS, I am local just south of HQ in Arlington, is about a 30 minute drive for me :) So I can always drop it off.
