Hi,
Since the last update, days in data are in double in my Classic 200.
Day1 09/07/2012 3.9kw
Day2 08/07/2012 0.0kw
Day3 08/07/2012 4.3kw
Day4 07/07/2012 0.0kw
Day5 07/07/2012 5.3kw
Same thing for Float time and others datas.
I'm not drunk though.

Hi Erik...
The last time I saw double data like this was with older Classic firmware.
That mainly happened with wind, where the wind would die down for a few hours
and then come on again and go away for another couple of hours. It could also
happen if the Classic was running and turned off and back on sometimes I think.
The present software only logs data at midnight once per day based on the internal clock.
It's much better.
It would be helpful to know the software build and/or date of the MNGP and the Classic which
can be found by pressing the MNGP STATUS button a few times where it shows the
nominal battery voltage, etc.
Thanks,
boB
Hi boB,
I checked it and both Classic and MNGP are up to date to the last firmware.
I didn't stop the Classic since I rewired the array from 48VDC to 72VDC a week ago.

Well then there must be another reason.
I don't suppose that you have two (2) MNGPs connected to one Classic ??
I will have to think about this one... Maybe there is some option bit that might affect this.
Not sure.
I know you may not be drunk but you might check once in a while that the clock in the MNGP isn't getting drunk.
OR, maybe the clock inside the Classic itself isn't counting correctly. It gets synchronized from the MNGP
which has the battery. We found one Classic where its clock was not running. I don't think it had anything
to do with double data accumulation but it's worth a look.
To look at the clock in the classic itself, go to the MNGP Clock/Calendar setup screen in MISC menu and
while there, HOLD down the LEFT-ARROW key and TAP the SOFT-RIGHT key. It should read the clock
inside the Classic. If it is running, the seconds should be counting up just like in the MNGP.
If not, then maybe we have something.
boB
Hi boB,
Just one MNGP connected. I have checked MNGP and Classic clock and both are correct but I didn't found the MNGP clock in MNGP clock/calendar,
I found it in Misc/Time/...
Is it serious Doctor?

NO, you're right. I always get that wrong unless I'm looking at the MNGP remote.
Thanks ! We'll have to think of something else then...
Very strange

Hi boB,
Data for yesterday are correct this morning. I'll check it every morning, if still wrong, I'll try to reboot it.
It's not very annoying, it works fine.
I'll post you back.
Thanks for your help.

Erik
Hi boB,
I didn't have double data yesterday (11/07/2012) so it has worked fine for the past 3 days.
Maybe it was just because I stopped the Classic to rewire my array last week.

Erik
OK, this is a good sign. Just keep an eye on it and let us know.
Might be sunspots. OOooohhh !! Speaking of sunspots, we're due for a nice aurora tonight maybe !
I'm going to go check !
boB
Hi boB,
I had checked data everyday since 5/6 days, and it's seem to be fine now. No other double data since July 08, for sure it was because I had stopped the Classic to rewire the array.
Bob, yesterday I've seen one of my panels which have a sort of crack (not really a crack but rather a dark blue treak) inside the panel (not the glass), I have checked Voltage and Amps of this string versus the other one and just noted a little 0.2 amp loss (total string amp is 5A).
Is it the begining of the end for this panel?
How could you have aurora in Arlington? Here in Quebec I hadn't seen one since my last Baie James trip with dogs in 2004.
Bob, could tell me what to do to insert picture (I must be a real dummy), when I click on the picture logo, it asks me nothing...

Hi everyone,
News double datas on my Classic 200. In fact, I've seen these double datas each time I play with the EA setting but when I keep the same setting for several days, it works fine.

Erik, would love to see any screens you may have to help with this issue.
I am especially interested to see if your double datas are from the same day but because the Classic
is seeing two 12:00 midnight's per day or something like that.
boB
Hi boB,
Yo, I've found it... Thanks Ryan :-\
Here are the screens! Hope this works...

Hi Erik,
I was having something like that, when I was pushing too quickly on the MNGP buttons.
Some informations on the LCD were not refreshed.
It was good when i push slowly.
Will have a new look at this, tomorrow in the morning, to confirm.

That might be part of it (i.e. pushbutton weirdness) but the fact that the date was the same, (7-31-2012)
and the kW-Hours was 0.0 in one and 5.3 in the other double data and the time being the same is just
plane weird !
Erik, do you see this for several days in a row ??
I do know that the index number (4, 5, 6) does not always increment or decrement properly so ignore that for
the moment.
What it looks like is happening is that it is triggering and storing and clearing the data and writing it one more
time with the cleared data. After the Classic saves the daily data, it is supposed to lock out any more data
saves for that day, right after it saves the data.
Maybe a better question is, do you always see one of the double data points show 0.0 ???
Thanks,
boB
Hi boB,
QuoteErik, do you see this for several days in a row ??
No, not several days in a row but from time to time. I have noted it when I change the EA settings to adjust it to my loads.
QuoteMaybe a better question is, do you always see one of the double data points show 0.0
Yes, when it happens, it's always been with 0.0 (and even sometime 0.0.0 with a cold beer ;D).
Yann,
QuoteI was having something like that, when I was pushing too quickly on the MNGP buttons.
Yes you're right, I noticed that too, but when you find a double data, and push slowly up and down, datas are correct. In this case, it's a steady double data that didn't disappear even when gently pushed.
But, I'm sure that if I don't play with my settings for several days, Classic datas will be sober ;).

Erik
Hi all,
I'm also seeing double datas, even when pushing slowly on the buttons.
But for me, I don't play with the EA setting.
I'm also seing data on day 381, for a Classic that is less than two months old.
Pictures follows in a few hours.
Yann
Yann, is it a Classic 200 (i don't remember)?
Also, what are these datas for day 381?
Erik
Yes Erik, it's a Classic 200, as your.
Enclosed Screenshots of Day1 and day 381 :
As you can see, they are identical, except the day number.
Yann
More and more :
08/01/2012 : Image 4 and 5 with one with 0.0kwh
07/31/2012 : Image 6 and 7 with one with 0.0kwh

I think that 381 is really an index of 1. That index can be off by one and 381 and 1 are really next to each other.
I will fix the index. For now, trust the date instead. The index would not even be there except that sometimes you
might want to see how far from "today" you are and if the time and/or date is "invalid", you would have no idea
where you were.
Sorry you guys are having to do any of this. But with your input which I really appreciate, we will get it fixed.
As for double data while playing with EA, that might be a clue actually ! Thanks !
boB
OK Bob,
If you really appreciate our contribution, we will continue to play with you :
You're right, the index is for the computer guys, so we will trust the date.
Day7 and Day 8 have the same date, and production, but two records with 1.6Kw for the Day
Humm....
If you play a lot with the up and down arrows, you are having Day9 and .... Day9 with two different dates and two different productions.
BOB, please don't flame me, it was before the beers and ... without PhotoShop !
I was also surprised when I saw the latest screen, and I Had to go back on my Iphone pictures to verify that my memory was OK.
Before, you request the information, the Classic and the MNGP are playing with the latest firmware.
So, enjoy our pictures and give us new screens for our eyes ;-))
Thanks in advance.

So,
The double data, same date with different data (kW-hours here) is definitely what I would call double data.
The data is getting saved to EEprom twice. But is that being saved one right after the other ? Or is it
happening spaced apart in time more ?? I believe it is happening one right after the other.
I believe the big question is this... Have any of you seen double data with the extra data with other than
0.0 kW-Hours ?? If it is always 0.0 kW-Hours on the extra one, then the extra date data is most
likely happening immediately after the first one. i.e. also at midnight. That will tell a lot and make it easier to fix.
Looks like your top two pictures showing kW-Hours of 1.6 showing index 7 and 8 is the index issue.
i.e. pressing the button changed the index which comes from the MNGP but did not request new
data from the Classic itself. That's one thing I have to fix.
Same thing for the bottom two photos is looks like with both dates showing index of day 9.
The dates and kW-hours are different and so the Day 9 index is what is not being truthful
in those photos.
I know about the index (day 1, day 2, day 3 etc) problem is in the MNGP.
The double data with same date but with different kW-Hour information is originating in the Classic.
I was mentioning the index number because of the 381 showing up with yesterday's date.
That is most likely the index number problem. BUT, if the index of 381 shows up all of the time
and is perfectly repeatable, then, that may also be a clue !
Thanks for all the input !
boB
QuoteSorry you guys are having to do any of this.
Hi boB,
That's not the most important problem in the world, I can live with it ;).
One could know these values for a given date and that's enough for me.
My Classic works pretty well!
