Title: Midnite solar powerflo lithium batteries
Post by: dapdan on July 05, 2024, 07:36:33 AM
All,

It seems as though the best keep secret on this forum is Midnite's new Powerflo lithium batteries. I watched a video showing some basic functionality and indicating that they will be available the end of this month!. I was shocked because I saw nothing of this on the forum. Is this correct Midnite, and if so why there is nothing on the site about these new batteries.

Concerned fan boy

yes, it is .
Please note I do not work for Midnite.

The One and those batteries are more of a discussion on https://diysolarforum.com/threads/midnite-solar-announced-their-new-10kw-aio-at-intersolar-today.76840/page-61

If you want those specs you will need to purchase a minimum order from Midnite I was trying to do just that to get my business going; dealing with lesser companies but solar is not cheap and I don't have that kind of money to invest right now, still in the pipeline though.

So reverting to the old system of ordering when needed from US retailers.

If not you will have to wait like the rest of us until it's released.

There are supposed to be two versions, Wall mounted 16kwh and rack-mounted 5kwh if I am correct.

M,

Yes it is indeed that same video. At least it was able to inform me as to their existence. Thanks for the other links I will definitely check them out. They seem to be good value. I really like the integrated staking feature that save cost on rack mounts.

M,
I went through all links and don't see any additional information of the powerflo batteries. Other youtube videos with the two guys I had seen already. The threads on diyforum does not contain info on the powerflo batteries. It seems that they are only revealed on the homestead guy video. Maybe he realised it to early?

True,
The batteries were mentioned on the forum not the details though.

I shared those links of the One because I am sure those guys would feature them as soon as they get their hands on them
I think Rick is closely affiliated to Midnite this the reason for the spec sheet.
I can't recall's it was Bob or Robin mentioned on the diy solar forum that the are awaiting ul certification for the batteries after the it would be officially release . They did keep this a secret for a while.
They mentioned that they would be competitive even with the eg4 batteries from Signiture solar .
Looking forward to that
.

No issues so far...
I have these paralleled with a 300Ah Iron Edison "foot locker" lithium with a spare EG4 100Ah and they all seem to work okay.  Only the MN-BATTERY has comms to the MN-ONE inverter.  Ran an over night test with 52% SOC remaining at sunup.

Hmmmm. Noticed the label says lithium ion and not lifepo4 .Is this for real?

Wiz,

Are the cables included.

I am sure they are lifep04 as it is a type of lithium ion battery and this name is generically used to identify the battery by the type of electrolyte being used.

Wiz,

Is the paralleling on both charging and discharging.

two new sections for these batteries have been created in the forum. Still more questions than answers tho. Maybe MS underestimated the sleuthness of its fans and followers.

Yes both the 5K server rack and 16K wall mount will close loop with Rosie as well as the new AIO
