Title: Classic 200 EQ
Post by: rodwilsonsr on September 21, 2024, 06:43:35 PM
I want to manually EQ my battery bank with my generator power.
I have the Classic 200 and the Magasign inverter.  I waited till the sun went down and started the generator.  I then went into the Classic 200 and started a manual EQ.  The display showed EQ MPPT, but the volts was not rising.
Can I do an EQ off genny power?

Hi Rod,  welcome to the Forum.

The Classic, like most MPPT Charge Controllers,  has no way to use the AC generator power, to charge/EQ batteries.

If you have sufficient PV power on a sunny day,  you may well be able to do a Charge,  plus an EQ in the same day, using your Classic.

Your inverter may have that capability?

Indeed,  the Magnum inverter IS probably an Inverter/Chager.  You may nee to adjust the Magnasine'sAC charge current,  depending on the genset's needs, etc.

Sorry got a phone call in the middle of composing that earlier reply.
