Title: Resting
Post by: morse on September 10, 2012, 04:56:56 AM
Hi All
I have installed my classic 150 and keep doing the setup over and over.
the classic does not want to start producing amps into my battery bank
the wind turbine spins free and the volts shoot up .
the classic keeps in resting mode
i have connected everything as advised in the quick start guide
some help needed please

Sounds like either the Mode is OFF or the wind curve is not set correct? I would call in and ask for Tom in Hawai as I am in Florida for SPI. 360-403-7207 extension 150 Tom

thanks for the response
it is working now.
i can only get one curve to work on my classic
maybe because my system is 12 volt ?????
it is the  dairy land dwp320 12 volt
the kestral 12 volt did not seem to work
i modified it a bit .
my next question is
how do i create the perfect wind curve  for my turbine?????

It might be that the Kestrel 12V curve didn't work because the cut-in voltage is too high.  That turbine can be
used with a 12V battery but I believe it still has a high cut-in voltage.  A 12V turbine that is really a 12V nominal
turbine will have a lower cut-in voltage.  That is probably why the Kestrel isn't turning on.  Your turbine, whatever
it is, just needs to make a higher voltage than the lowest (0 amp) point on the power curve in the Classic.

thanks Bob
i made my own wind curve with help of an email from Brian.
after listening to the noise of the wind turbine and looking at  the turbine and the control panel on the classic  for a whole day i still find it difficult to tell when the turbine goes into stall and when it is over speeding.
