Title: Magnum Energy - sourcing parts
Post by: blevac on November 25, 2024, 05:17:29 PM
Hi there,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, I couldn't find anything on search and Magnum doesn't have any forums that I could find.

With the announcement that Magnum is shutting down, I would like to try to source some spares for my system. Over the years I have picked up 2 used non-functioning MS-4024PAE inverters and repaired one which I am now adding to my system in parallel mode. My third inverter has an issue with the control board but everything else is functioning. So in essence I have backup parts for everything except a control board.

I have tried to contact Magnum sales multiple times but they never return my calls. I have tried a number of online resellers but none have the board in stock (TCB-MS4024PAE) and are no longer able to order anything. Does anyone on this forum have a suggestion as to where I could find a replacement board? Or maybe someone has an older one from a firmware upgrade they want to part with?

Or barring all of that, does anyone have access to a schematic for the Magnum Inverters? The control board is all SMD so a bit harder to repair but I am willing to go that way if needed.

Any help is appreciated!

Bob

Would you mind providing the link to where you found Magnum is shutting down?  Thank you.

No link, I was told by 2 different Suppliers when I tried to order some Magnum parts for my parallel set up. I was told they (I guess Sensata) will continue to honor Warranties for the Magnum line but will longer produce any new products.

Bob,

I also got that impression from a supplier when I was sourcing parts to repair my MAES4048. I still have the inverter and am still holding out hope that I am able to get it fixed. Thing is that I changed the power board and it still not working. so I actually have two power boards and not sure if I can even get one from two and I had bought this board new for around 400 bucks. Let me know if you come across any parts for the 4048 line.

I looked everywhere for an official announcement. The only thing that pops up is the Backwoods link. I have lots of neighbours with Magnums and would like to warn them  - but I would like something verifiable....

From the Magnum Energy remote monitoring site today. I think they added this on the 31st of December. So officially one year of support left. After that....
