Title: For BBMT inclusion Multi Bank Discharge Peak Detector
Post by: Barry Fields on January 07, 2025, 07:39:02 PM
Anyone with multiple battery banks should know that not all banks are created equal. In my case I have 4ea 215 ah FLA banks 48V.
By monitoring the PEAK discharge amps for each bank, one can easily conclude if and which bank might need attention. I will choose to monitor discharge rates because they are larger and thus easier to discriminate.
EXAMPLE: PEAK RATES
Bank1 = 75a
Bank2 = 65a
Bank3 = 80a
Bank4 = 45a

Reasons
less AH cap due to age
poor connections to the buss or between batteries
lack of complete charging cycles (some sulphation has occurred)

This monitoring does not need to be done continuously. My plan is to only activate the detector when the last value is exceeded. Data collection and storage would only occur daily at the first entry into Bulk (yesterdays peak values).

Any comments appreciated
