Several months back I was talking with Logan and he mentioned that The AIO has several SPDs built into it. On the PV inputs as I recall. And looks like there may be on on the battery inputs too.
Just wondering if someone from MN could confirm which inputs have built-in SPDs, and which do not.

Virtually every electronic device made must have some surge protection on its inputs. The issue is it is usually smaller in capability than one may want for full fledged protection and also if you have additional protection outboard the device the chances of not having to have the device repaired goes up a lot. So for example the AIO does have some MPVs on its inputs but if you take a close strike and explode them you need to rebuild the AIO so we always recommend more SPD's outboard of all the devices
