I have 700 watts of PV all in series going to one kid and 600 watts of PV all in series going to the other.
Both controllers feed 4 - Rolls 6V batteries configured currently for 12V Volts
I have the 4 conductor phone cable attached in the master socket of both kids.
Also the kids are configured in sync mode in the Tech menu.
Both kids have been calibrated to read the correct battery value. Both kids seem to
be producing similar power give or take. The one with 600 watts is about 1 amp less than the one with 700 watts.
The kid with the temp sensor and WBJR is the 700 watts one. It's the one which took over one half hour longer to go into float than the one without the sensor.
I thought with two kids in sync mode, you only need one temp sensor and one WBJR.
Both kids dump their stuff through one shunt to the bank!
I cannot update the firmware on the older kid, as I'm on apple.
Here is some info from the knowledge base.
Maybe it will help.
It does sound like both Kids need to be on a certain firmware .
Maybe you can borrow a windows computer from a friend to do the update ?

Kids that won't talk to each other...some parent's dream, instead of screaming at each other. :o
Thanks for the reply, I will first track down a windows computer and try to update the Firmware. Then I'll follow these instructions...

Look at some of the other posts on the Kid on that Knowledge base. Not sure how old your Kid is but with my early model there was some kind of process I had to do for it to take the newer updates. The new update method was easier where you just drag the update into a folder . Something like that - been a long time since I used my Kid .
