Title: No Power coming out of my Classic 250
Post by: keesh on August 06, 2025, 02:37:39 PM
Never a dull moment.  Got no power out of one of my 3 Classic 250s
Sunny day.  The others (slaves) are producing 3Kw and 2.5 Kw and set for bulk MTTP
Checked circuit breakers.  They are not popped.
The classic seems to switch every so often to "Partial Shading Detected", but there is no cloud in the sky....

What is my next step?

TIA

After some digging into the unit.  Yes I did find Chapter 15 and uncle Albert, but the kettle is on the boil....
I also found that my warranty is in serious question.  You guys did have some fun did you not.

However I found that my transistor block had several blown transistors.  200N25N  I am from the generation that took the soldering iron and replaced transistors on faulty equipment.  Are there any schematics available on this board?  I assume that the entire row is 200N25N's  Any hints?

Found out it would take me several weeks for the mosfets to arrive.
So I bought a MidNite Solar 13-003-3 Classic Replacement Power Board.

When it arrived the static bag it arrived in looked like it had been opened.

I replaced the board and....  have the same issue.  It tries to turn on bulk mttp but stops with a PV shading error message.

Help.....

Hi keesh,

A couple of things:

It would be good to re-torque all of the cable connections in the entire DC side of your system.

I  do  not think that this has been mentioned.  is the firmware up-to-date,  and nominally all of the should be running the same Firmware revisions,  although,  am uncertain the effect of having a mix of Cl 150s and 250s on FW revision numbers.

A long,  long time ago one/some FW for Classics would report, "Shading",  in error   ...IIRC.

later,  Good Luck, Vic
