Many people (me included) have purchased SRNE-based inverters that are re-branded and sold under a variety of brand names. I have a 10kW SRNE ASP-based Eco-Worthy inverter that does not include arc-fault interruption ability on PV inputs. Given the chance of poorly (self) made, or cheap MC4 connectors being used in multiple lengthy PV strings we see these days, it would be nice to be able to add AFCI functionality to my system without having to buy a whole ($$$$) new inverter.
I didn't realize, when I purchased the Eco-Worrhy inverter, that it didn't have AFCI functionality on the PV input. I had read that all inverters had that ability. Given the fact that most PV-related fires start with faulty MC4 connectors arcing, this would be a GREAT SAFETY FEATURE that MANY people would be willing to add to their PV systems. I know I would jump at the chance to add another layer of safety for a reasonable amount of $$d.
If you can produce in plug-in module that goes between the PV strings and the inverter, you should already have a sizeable market that already exists (and may not even know what they're missing!)
