Title: Midnite Big Baby Box with #6 Wires
Post by: ccasey487 on September 09, 2014, 11:39:59 AM
I had a comment come up from a draft line drawing that #6 wires might be difficult to bend inside the Big Baby Box, does anyone have any experience with this?

ccasey487,

Yup , it's a tight fit, especially with THHN as it is coarser stranded......I solved by using Ancor Marine fine stranded wire.......bending is easier in tight corners. A tight 90 degree bend is nessecary at the buss bar on the side. The hot side buss from the p.v.combiner box will save room used on the breaker common side. MidNite does sell this buss bar separately but they are used by others as well. I used a Schnieder one robbed from a surplus panel.

Thanks tecnodave! We had been considering using the insulated buss bar available from midnite and currently have 4 breakers on the DIN rail.
