My house router is located at my room which is located 100 ft. Away from the MidNite classic 150 charge controller, and in order to use the monitoring, how far can run the cat 5 cable wire in order to connect it to one of my router Ethernet ports ?
You should be able to go 100 meters on a cat 5 cable run. 100 feet should be no problem.

If you have a wifi network installed in your home then you could connect the Classic to a wifi bridge such as the WET54G. These can usually be bought for $20 to $30
I had problems with 30 and 10 meter length of CAT5 cable, also cat6 gave me some headaches.
I tried to eliminate the problems with ferrite rings, that helps in most cases I think.
But my classics network hang up once 1-2 week, also with the ferrite rings attached at each end and in the way from basement to my living rooms.
Now using a 2nd FritzBox 7270 as wifi repeater, that works like a dream since a long time now.
(you get them cheap used - but watch out for 7270v3 - in my opinion they have the best wifi signal)
then you also have a router/switch at place and you can connect more devices, also a laptop for servicing the classic at place
Better use wifi so you also have no problems with grounding differences too
