Title: New load option
Post by: Highflyer on June 21, 2018, 10:07:11 AM
Mario and the engineering team,

Is it possible to add another function to the list of load choices for the Kid?  I would like the option of "load on" due to the FET, or CPU temperature.  This way, I could run a fan that would be pointed at the Kid whenever it/they got warm.   I would like to be able to select the temperature where the fan came on.

Thanks!

Brian - if they don't get around to adding that too soon you could try one of these temperature controllers and just put the sensing probe somewhere on the Kid .
They don't cost much

Larry,
I could do that, but it would not be as cool :)

Thanks for the link, I might play with it anyway, Mario and the rest seem a little busy right now.

would be nice to see the FET and CPU temperature in the PC mode serial data .. :-)

Midnite has said they are pretty much done with doing any more with Kid firmware ( except to fix the bugs they find I guess) .
They have all the engineers going full steam on the inverter projects from what they have said.
So doubtful that will happen - others have asked for years for more data output options from the Kid.
But who knows - maybe Mario will sneak out of the other project sometime and tinker with it some more.

well if you ask me whether i'd like to see more data for the KID or a new product from midnite .. -- i'd choose new product.
