Title: Nissan Leaf in 24v configuration
Post by: therealiraqisandman on December 24, 2019, 09:05:11 AM
Is anyone aware of a good authority or currently using a good charge profile for Nissan Leaf batteries in a 24v system that would share that profile? MN classic 150 charge limits?

I am currently using  SLA batteries and am considering a change to Leaf when current bank inevitably dies.  Anyone out there using these batteries successfully?

I have 14 230w PV panels, Schneider Conext SW 4024 inverter.

There might be better options for the money than the Leaf batteries these days.

Better do some research on that, everything I have read in many of the Battery DIY & Builder forums says to avoid the cells from a Leaf.   Many are using packs from Chevy Volts or Tesla packs.  There are also some incredible deals to be had on BYD, Samsung & other storage LFP packs coming available as well.   LFP has advantages over LiIon for static power storage.

Some examples:

Good forums to learn about these and more, plus all the tricks, tips & discoveries made...   Excellent Resources !

Thanks very much guys.....  I had been researching Tesla batteries a while back.  Not sure what made me look into Leaf batteries.  At 50.00 for a single Gen 1 module (Techdirect club and Bigbattery.com) thats pretty cheap.  Even cheaper than Costco 6vs

What characteristics put the Tesla above the Leaf?
