Title: Meaning of Config/Advanced/Battery Status Meter/Compensation
Post by: openplanet on June 10, 2020, 06:05:36 PM
Not clear to me what the "Compensation" option does.  Also, do these three only apply if a MN Battery Status Meter is installed?
As always, thanks in advance.

I believe that the %/C is how the SOC will adjust the value shown  as the batteries get colder.
So for example if the SOC capacity is set for 100%  if the batteries get colder it will not show %100   but 1% lower capacity  for every degree C below the 25 degree C setting above in the temperature compensation settings.

I think that is how it works but someone will correct me if I am wrong.  It has something to do with compensating the display of SOC to reflect the batteries temperature.

Ryan made a 5 part series of videos explaining what each of the Local App menus mean . The one you are asking about is here

Thanks to both of you.
I guess my confusion stemmed from the fact that I was interpreting the "C" in "%/C" as meaning battery capacity, not degrees Centigrade.
