Title: Lithium LFP/whizbang charge efficiency
Post by: SolarMusher on April 10, 2022, 01:41:23 PM
Hi all,
I was tweaking my Whizbang efficiency to match my Volthium LFP batteries and noted that 98% was too low on WBjr and Trimetric, so I set them both to 100% and SOC seems to be more accurate.
What WBjr numbers are you using on different LFP batteries?
100% seems too good to be true but...
Thanks,
Erik

I would love to hear what others say about their findings too...

Thanks for your information !   I knew that the Amp-Hour efficiency was higher for LFP than Lead Acid but, WoW !

Hi boB,
Volthium told me to start with 98% efficiency, but after four/five cloudly days my Wbjr plus Trimetric were both off by 6%.
I set them to 100% yesterday and will check them for a week.
Another option would be to install a Cerbo gx from Victron to read the SOC directly from batteries. The Cerbo has two relays that could be used to start a gen on soc.
Simpliphi integration guides for Outback (fndc) talk about 98% efficiency but I would be curious to know real life numbers from different LFP users/brands.
A+,
Erik

I have my Battleborns set to 99% on my Victron shunt seems pretty close

Hi FNG,
Do you have a Victron BMV battery monitor?
