Title: Installing 2 Classics on same system(separate solar array)
Post by: pao2 on October 17, 2022, 07:06:51 PM
It's a bit confusing to figure out how to install 2 classics on the same system. Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram that has 2 controllers, whizbang jr. and other cables indicated. Ethernet, battery temp sensor, etc. Would also be great if anyone knows where there might be a video on this subject.  Have the second 250 headed my way and need to get all this interconnection and software settings correct. Thanks much.

You can either just use two Classics with their own settings, or you can hook them up in Follow Me mode. Both the Classics will share one temperature sensor if you do Follow Me.
Here are some instructions for setup

Thank you very much for this information. It will definitely get me going. Do you happen to know if both controllers will get access to the whizbang jr data in the follow me scenario?  Also, would you know if anyone has ever put 2 whizbang jr boards on a single shunt so that the 2 controllers have access to  independent information and would probably be able to be managed totally separate from each other? Probably a dumb thought but can't help but ask. lol.

You really only need one whizbang since both controllers will be charging the same battery - so you will know everything going into and out of the battery.
If you just use one whizbang then you have Aux 2 available on the second Classic - which is nice since then  you can do pwm stuff with it that isn't available on Aux 1 .

Thanks much. I'll probably be setting up the second controller in a couple of weeks and might need to get some more inputs. Will go with the follow me setup you recommended and see how it goes.
