Title: Beta unit installed in field-- first test Tomorrow
Post by: ebenbayer on January 05, 2023, 10:26:03 PM
Hi All,

I have my Barcelona mounted and just completed the wiring tonight.

Two separate strings at about 400 volts each for the VMP; each string is 10 440 watt panels. (https://www.certainteed.com/resources/Solar144HalfCell430440W_TDS_CTRPV-01-024_2103_E.pdf)

Total array size 8.8 KWh

this is feeding a 2000 amp hour lithium ion battery bank comprised of salvaged Tesla model S cells running between 40 and 48 volts. the lower voltage range was very attractive for me for this charge controller.

assuming the sun comes up tomorrow I will post results!

this is an addition to my current system~~ 13 KW installed solar, and a 500 watt microhydro. 6 stacked outbacks produce the AC Power.

Thanks Ryan and team for designing, building and getting this one out to me!

Thx Wagreg! Its a 10 year + project at this point.

I'm connected and producing about 150 watts on a very overcast morning... will post some pics once I we get some real sun :)

Just think, one Rosie could easily replace two outback inverters.  And Barcelona can replace several Classics.  Man how times change!

Your setup looks very clean and organized.  Either you are about to have a lot more energy, or a cleaner setup, either way, you win with these new devices.

Thank you!

Yes-- incredible the power density you can build now

im maxed out; 25 KW pushes 500 amps which exceeds a few things (2/0 wire, contactor's) so looking to make some "amp based" diversion loads

also--

saw 8.8 KW out of the Barcelona at peak so far and bigger harvests than might slightly larger (9.6 vs 8.8) array split between three classics (150, 150, 150); great stuff!!
