Title: cotek CR6 monitor
Post by: Westbranch on August 05, 2023, 06:35:28 PM
Cotek CR6 monitor stopped working after turning the power off for work. Charge controller is OK just the monitor will not light up or display. We have unplugged and plugged the monitor and shut the power off several times, but no luck. Any ideas?  I watch this monitor closely as I am the cook cleaner etc and it is in the kitchen. I am westbranch's wife. He has Parkinsons and has difficulty typing now. Thanks

Sorry to hear about Westbranch. Say hello for me.  Glad you reached out.
I don't know much about Cotek CR6 monitor. That sounds like it is for an inverter.
Yes cycling the power is what I would have thought was the first thing to try.
I looked it up online - they don't have much of a manual for it.
I think it runs off rs232 signals .
I suppose it could be a problem with the interconnecting cable. But hard to know if there may be some internal component or fuse in the monitor that failed.
Your best bet may be to contact manufacturer and see if they can help.
Here is link to manual and there is  contact info on it there.

But maybe someone else on the group has experience with those ? That monitor doesn't really have anything to do with the controller which is what I  have experience with.
Wish I could be more help. I did a few google searches on this problem you are having with it but don't find anything.

Hi Westbranch's wife,  very to hear of Wb's (Erik, IIRC) condition, and of your situation.

I know absolutely nothing of either Cotek inverters, or of the Remote.

Below, is a link to the manual for the SD series of inverters.  On Pg 13, there is a reference to powering-up the inverter, and the Remote:
https://www.invertersupply.com/media/data/data_20170829163907.pdf

I have not read the entire manual  ...Will look around some more, on-line,  for Cotek info.

Take care, and please do give Wb our best wishes.   Vic
