Thanks Niel !  Them's some cool sites !

BTW, last night while driving home I worked  ZL50VK, a special even station in New Zealand.

That's about the only time I get to be on HF anymore.

glad you like them. the tropo one is great for vhf.

if you tell me what times and about what frequencies you hang, maybe i'll tune there once in awhile to see if i hear you on. i'm still trying to work out something better for an antenna so in the meantime the one i'm using isn't very good. in spite of the trees being a problem with falling branches, not to mention the trees themselves falling, i intend to put something else up and with more height. i was just telling ryan that i just had 2 ccd cameras blow out that must've coupled rf to the cat5 from 10ft away and parallel for about 20ft from my 450 ohm ladder line with 100w. i'll be looking at rg11 next with a balun with toroids on the shield to help prevent that.

i also get slammed on 80mtrs with harmonics and overload from the am bc band as i have 4 known stations within 2 miles of me. i bought a filter that nearly wipes out the am bc band helping with the overload problem, but harmonics are still there along with odd combos. that won't be a problem for trying you as it won't be on 80mtrs, but it's tough right now for me to hear ryan.
