Is realtime monitoring available for the 250 via the internet? When I'm away, it sure would be nice to que up the Classic and see what it's doing?

The Local app can do this it does require a little work in the router to forward the port of the Classic to the outside world. My MidNite is a web based free monitoring service we are working on but I think it may still be a good bit of time before it is ready. I am guessing maybe 3rd quarter of 2012? The engineer on that product is working on several projects and a few keep taking him a away from My MidNite.

Ryan,

I need to set up for (8) Classic 200s for remote monitoring.  What port needs to be forwarded in order to see the Classics from the outside?  I don't find that information in the user manual.

As always, thanks in advance.

Hi John.   You can change the port that the Classic uses, but usually it is  502  for  modbus over TCP/IP which is what the
Classics use.    It is about time for an update to our modbus specification since there are a few new features, but
the one online at www.midnitesolar.com  is still valid.

I would port forward another port to 502 of the classic just to help keep folks from trying to play with things though.
