Powerflo16 Recommended Settings

Been running a PF16 batt with a MN AIO and have been curious as to what settings one can/should set for this battery. I realize one does not "need" to set any, but it would be good to know what is recommended for maximum batt life, and for things to avoid (such as minimum discharge levels, etc). And is there a need (as with some BMSs) to get to 100% SOC on a regular basis to keep the SOC counters accurate?

Also many inverters/CCs have settings for charge voltages and the like; I have not seen them on The One; did I just miss them? And if they do exist, any recommendations here?

The little checking I've done (DVM on the batt leads) shows it is charging at mid 54v most of the time, getting up close to 55v at it nears 100% SOC. That seems a bit low, compared to many "recommended" LFP charging voltages, is that intentional?

What info about best use of this battery does MN have?

I also would be interested to know what the charge points the MN AIO uses in closed loop.
For my own lithiums here with non closed loop on my other Midnite controllers I use 55.2v for absorb top voltage and somewhere between 53.6 and 54 v for float.
I took a lot of my lithium charging advice from Off Grid Garage videos on youtube. Andy there does a lot of charge/ discharge testing on lifepo4 cells over the years and graphs the results and then explains it all. He does this from full to empty with various charge setpoints so you can see the capacity and time results.
His conclusion is that 55.2v is 99% full at the bottom of the steep rise and getting that last little bit of charge out of them isn't worth the extra voltage rise on the cells and maybe that is a bit more stress on them too ?
There are so many different opinions and recommendations out there about best practices for lithiums.
What I gathered from Off Grid Garage is that the batteries charge faster the higher the voltage absorb point. But for the little bit of difference in capacity gain not worth it.
But from reading about other all in one inverters and how they charge in closed loop mode there is a lot of questions. I have seen some people say that theirs ( other brands) only use SOC reported by the bms to make the charging decision. But they may look at maximum and minimum cell voltages reported , which might be from the entire set of all parallel batteries and reported to the aio by the lead battery . So if the high or low cell is too far out of whack the controller might shut off charging too - though the bms does this so doubt the controller will because it would shut off charging for the whole battery system instead of individual batteries which is what the bms in each battery would do if there is a problem.More than likely it would be if the battery voltage gets too high it would shut off charging, since the aio would see the average voltage of all the batteries just like it is seeing the average soc of all the batteries .
It will be interesting to know exactly how this works .

From my smarthsunt and MN15 logging, it looks like bus voltage is allowed to charge up to 56.8 or 56.9V so that's pretty good. That allows all my cells in my parallel 280Ah JK BMS pack to reach 3.521-3.56V which i'm pretty happy with. Too bad I can't grab the min and max cell voltages of the PF16 battery.

Seems like if the  battery is sending out pylontech then those should be available. There probably is a way to get them.
Are you able to see if it controls charging current somehow when the battery approaches 100% ?
I have been learning Home Assistant and that is a powerful thing. I have been integrating my Classic , Smart Shunt, a Shelly EM , and a luxpower inverter all in one page and in a Graphic .
In case you are interested , I saw a github project that uses an Esp32 to get Vicron Smart Shunt data and then convert it to Pylontech protocol to send it to an inverter closed loop so it acts like a bms. But sounds like what you have set up is working okay for you.

Adam used this one from amazon to snoop the pylon data on the can bus. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRB8KXWL?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Yes, you would see if the current or requested voltages are modulated as you get closer to the target voltage but I believe the MN15 is not doing that. The PF16 is communicating to the inverter but I have a shunt and parallel JK BMS pack that I can pull data from. This is what I get in terms of DC power https://imgur.com/a/MwW71wU

I just ordered a usb canbus yesterday from Aliexpress. I saw that one you linked on Amazon but thought maybe this one is more up to date ?  I am getting the v.2 pro S version. Part of the reason is someone said it just showed up on linux or windows as a serial port . I have an innomaker usb canbus here but recently couldn't get it to show up on a raspberry pi or windows even though I am pretty sure I had it working last year.
So I will see how this new Canable one does !
