I have a Solid State relay that is 3-32 Vdc to switch on the 125VAC for fans (solar heat wood drying area) . 162 watts /125Vac on a SSR-25 DA FOTEK SSR .
Two ways , use my 24Vdc battery system with the internal relay  to feed the SSR or Use the internal 12Vdc signal from the classic.  I read them as both being 200mA . Im leaning towards the internal relay with the 24 feed from the system so the SSR is powered on well. I have used these SSR on a many  incubators &  brooders  here. Rather than stressing the classic internal power , use the fused & PTA system .SSR is 65-130 mA dc currant on 24Vdc or 12Vdc .So thats why Im leaning towards the 24Vdc ..

So 20 Views , and not a word of " DON'T Do IT"

Im just wondering how others who have used AUX 1 to send a signal have used the AUX1 . Seeing that im 3-32Vdc in my SSR and on a 24 Vdc system , then I do have both voltages . On the Big Array of 48Vdc , not many secondary relays ETC are as plentiful as 12/24Vdc.

Hi VT,

Saw the original post,  but it was unclear just what you were saying ...

There is not a specific model number for the SSR specified,  so it is not possible to say exactly what one might do,  without more data.

All good AC SSRs  are Optically Isolated,  using an LED to control a Photo Transistor which drives the Triac (AC switch).   Normally the current required by the LED that controls the Triac is quite small.

Looked at one "25 amp FOTEK SSR"  and its specs were not particularly well written,  but it mentioned that the Trigger current at 12 V was 7.5 Ma.   This is a very small current,  and personally,   I would just use the voltage output of an Aux port to drive the SSR.

But without the data sheet for the exact SSR.  or at least the exact part number,  it is not really possible to say just what one might do in your situation.

This was one of the reasons that I chose to not reply,  FWIW.  Opinions.   Good Luck,   Vic

Thanks Vic , I'll see if I can take a few shots of the SSR & do a wiring schematic of what Im thinking . These last few days on the PNW area have been below 0c so perfect logging weather . As soon as I get a break , I'll see if I can draw a stick-man :-) .
