Updating firmware 150s on SMA inverter system

I have 2 unmatched firmwares (2046 & 1923) on my two Classic 150s connected to a pair of SMA6048s. I think I should update my firmware.

1) Any reason not to update to 2126?

2) Are there any special conditions since they are attached to SMA inverters? Will the SMA update all voltages and other settings automatically? I always input parameters via SMA, not Midnite Solar.

3) I do not have a Windoze laptop, only Macs. Can I install using Windows XP in a virtual VMWare Fusion window? Do I need to use (buy) a more modern Windows, such as 10, to run in VMWare window?

Note: I have run XP in VMW on Mac without problems, and can access the USB ports.
