I noticed in the video for the LITE you can set limits..

I'll be getting the Classic 150 by next Friday.. I'm guessing it has the same settings available using the Midnite Local Panel software.. (already downloaded it)..

I plan on running 2 * 18 VMP (12v nominal) panels in series for basically a 24v nominal input.. the panels have an 21.6 VOC, IMP of 8.05 Amps, & ISC of 8.95 Amps..

There will be 3 parallel sets of 2 panels.. 24 amps going in to the controller..

I will be running a 12v battery bank to start with..

Do I set the input to 24 amps and the output to the max of 92 amps??

What do you recommend..??

Hi,
If your Classic is wired with #6AWG I would set it to 60A in/out. If wired with #4AWG , you can set it to 80A. Take a look at at your in/out Classic breakers.

Well from the Combiner Box (Breakers) to the Classic 150 is 6 AWG (about 18")..

From the Classic to the battery bank will be 4 AWG (about 42")..

I have a 100 amp breaker I will be putting on the + line going down to the battery bank..

So were your saying 60A in and 80A out???

The Input current limit is usually left at 99. This is really more for Hydro guys who want to limit the amount ever drawn on the input of high voltage hydro's.

The output would typically also be left at the max unless there was a compelling reason to limit the current to the battery. In a typical solar install the current is limited by the amount of pv. The breakers are sized large enough so they do not trip.

I understand.. so I could for sake of argument do 60 in max and 90 out max.

Does these numbers affect the MPPT sweep at all when set to SOLAR?? like faster/slower??

I was wondering if widening the gap would make a longer sweep to figure out the OUT..

Halfcrazy

No effect at all on the sweep unless of course you set them low enough it goes into current limit.
