Are they the same just a different length?   I have 2 batteries that I am putting in parallel.  I understand the shorter one is designed to link batteries and the longer to connect to the inverter, however the shorter cable is not long enough for how I need to place the batteries.  Can I use the longer cable from one battery box to link the batteries and then the the other longer cable from the other box to connect to the inverter?

You want the cables between the batteries to be the same length so that the power distribution is as even as possible.
Not sure what you got with your batteries but sounds like you have four cable - two short ones and two long ones ?
If you need different sized cables I have found this place to have high quality products and you can get cables of different sizes with the size terminals you need.

I think you might be talking about the AWG cabling (which I am set for)... what I was looking for was confirmation on the communication port cables that allow the inverter to talk to the batteries... but to answer your question...

Yes, each battery came with a short communication cable and a long communication cable.  I was hoping to just use the 2 long comm port cables.  One to link the batteries together and one to connect to the inverter, but I wanted to verify that doing so would allow proper communication. i.e. there wasn't something different internally with the shorter cables that would not allow the longer cable to do the same thing.

oh - for the communication cables it shouldn't matter unless for some reason they are pinned differently for battery to battery and the one to the inverter.

I'm under the impression they are pinned the same, but I was just trying to verify. They look the same, other than a label, but the manual doesn't specify.

The longer one labeled INV and Battery is likely not going to work for the LINK cables.

That said the Link Cable is a standard off the shelf ethernet cable if you need a longer one

Perfect.  Thank you.  That's what I needed to know.  Appreciate the reply and hopefully this helps anyone else wondering the same.
